notmypresident: (Elton "Caribou")
The house I rent out here in the boonies is at the end of its particular development, and so the backyard opens into a small valley.  It's very pretty... but when the winds pick up, they can reach gale velocity thanks to the tunneling effect.  I've become quite used to it and am rather fond of the sound of wind.  But after sleeping in a quiet hotel over the weekend, it seems I'm back to square one.  The noise from the howling woke me up at about 4:30 this morning.  And since my mind is my own worst enemy, instead of falling back to sleep I spent the time mulling and stewing.  I did manage to finally get back to sleep after more than an hour of tossing and turning, but that's a terrible way to start the day.

I got a lot accomplished yesterday, but (of course) didn't finish everything.  There's time for that today, thankfully.  I'd like to be feeling a bit more sure of myself -- but that's rather been my mantra throughout life, so nothing new there.

Without further ado, the Favorite Bear of the Moment:
