notmypresident: (Fleetwood Mac Rumours)
Today was a good day for music.

The super deluxe edition of "Tango in the Night" arrived from the UK today. It's a four-disc set (so not quite the "super deluxe" it could have been). The packaging is consistent with previous deluxe editions, but while it includes a disc for the album's 12-inch mixes, the only high-res audio offered is the remastered stereo edition. I'm bummed that Warner Bros. decided not to give Fleetwood Mac's second biggest release a 5.1 surround mix, but I'm otherwise quite happy with the dramatically improved audio. I especially like that ordering from AmazonUK saved me about half the cost of getting the set from AmazonUS.

Speaking of super deluxe editions, Universal today announced a six-disc 50th anniversary release for "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band." In addition to both mono and stereo mixes, the package will include tons of alternate takes as well as a restored documentary and a 5.1 surround mix. Hoot! This is definitely the way for a company to once again drain our wallets for an album that most already have in their music library. The set is rather pricey right now, but prices should drop.

And now, Another Hot Guy. I know that most folks will first see this one's super-toned body, but I was far more taken with his handsome face/beard.
