Yesterday was a total bust for me. I didn't do a damned thing except to watch the finale for "When We Rise." I couldn't even muster the energy to get in a treadmill session. But with the clock ticking, I knew that today had to be different. What's more, I knew that I had to make this session an extra Push Day to make up for lost time.

I did some additional research on the internet about what exercise programs work best. Looking for such a subjective answer on the world wide web is like trying to find a needle in a stack of needles. Everyone's got an opinion, and few agree with one another. But one style that came up frequently enough to make an impression on me was the one that suggested short bursts of intense exercising interspersed with shorter cool-down periods (and then repeat ad nauseam).

So that's exactly what I did today. Instead of going for an extended 30-minute session, I kept it to just 15 minutes. I pumped the incline to a setting of 5 (out of 10) for three minutes, followed by a rest cycle of one minute at the 2 setting, and then back up to 5 for another three minutes. I did those sets until the 15 minutes had been completed, and felt pretty good about it (even though my speed is still abysmally slow). I find that I'm alway surprising myself with how much better I can do once I get started than with what I thought would happen before getting on the treadmill. Here's hoping this kickstarts a new round of weight loss for me.

And now Another Hot Guy. I'm not really into muscle bears, but who could resist this one?
